Description

Robert Half Finance is working with a fast-growing SaaS company to hire an outstanding Financial Analyst. This Financial Analyst position includes tasks like measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans and conducting financial modeling on a variety of financial products. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. In this role, you will serve as a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. In the Financial Analyst role, your primary areas of focus will include supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. In this position, you will also be expected to follow your main responsibilities with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Austin, Texas, and it is a full-time employment opportunity.

– Work with the Accounting team on monthly and quarterly financial close processes


– Track monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations to ensure business partners handle their resources


– Lead monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required


– Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization


– Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are executed properly


– Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks


– Drive P& L forecasting and Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis

Requirements

– BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

– Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

– Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

– Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)

– 3+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)


– Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized


– Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity


– Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)


– Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills


– Strong familiarity with Tableau
