PM Youth Internship Program in China 2024

During his visit to China in June 2024, the Prime Minister of Pakistan visited agriculture university and research institutes for developing closer cooperation between the two countries in the areas of agriculture research education and trade.

He proposed to send 1,000 agricultural professionals 10 China to enhance their skills to promote innovation, increase productivity, and support sustainable growth in Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

In pursuance of Prime Minister’s directive, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) invites application from young professional working in the public and private sectors to participate in the training program which will be implemented in phases.

 The duration of training will be 3-6 month, Details of priority areas of training, eligibility criteria, and general instructions are as follows;

Eligibility Criteria

  • Young agricultural professional working in the public and private sectors.
  • Holds, at least, master’s degree or BS four years in one of the nine priority areas.
  • Should be 25 to 45 years of age on the application closing date.
  • Have minimum two years of work experience in the priority areas.
  • Proficiency in the English language and use of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Passport should be valid for at least one year on the application closing date.

Priority Areas:

The training will be provide in the fowling nine priority areas

  • Farm Mechanization

Advanced mechanization techniques to boost farm efficiency.

  • Crop Speed Breeding

Techniques for Cotton, Hybrid Rice, Vegetables, and Pulses to enhance crop productivity.

  • High-Level Technologies

Training in the use of Drones, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for precision agriculture.

  • Seed Production and Processing Technologies

Focus on high-yield and resilient seed technologies.

  • Livestock Disease Surveillance

Improved monitoring and control of livestock diseases.

  • Livestock Breeding and Genomics

Genetic improvement techniques for livestock.

  • Aquaculture, Especially Shrimp Production and Processing

Aimed at enhancing shrimp farming capabilities in Pakistan.

  • High Irrigation Water Systems

Training in advanced irrigation methods for efficient water use.

  • Fruits & Vegetables Processing

Techniques to extend shelf life and increase value addition for fruit and vegetable products.

General Instruction

  • Training program is fully funded by the Government of Pakistan.
  • Scope of training, orientation sessions, and reporting requirements will be provided by the federal government.
  • Selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to return to Pakistan upon completion of training.
  • Any nominations without NOC from the department will not be considered.
  • Women are encouraged to participate in the training program.
  • Family will not be allowed to accompany the trainee.
  • Those who have already submitted nominations are not required to submit again.
