Wal Mart to reduce jobs, and transfer some employees to the main centers

Exclusive: Walmart – the largest private business owner in the country – spends hundreds of roles and closes one of its offices in North Carolina, where he continues to return workers to its main centers in California and Arkansas, according to an internal memorandum seen by Fox Business on Tuesday.

Donna Morris, chief officer of Wall Mart, told the employees that the company cuts roles and asks employees in the offices in Hoboken and some of its smaller offices to move to the newly opened headquarters in Benonville, Arkansas, as well as an office in Sanifille, California.

“We make these changes to collect the main capabilities together, and encourage speed and joint understanding,” Morris said in the memo. “Through this review process, we have canceled some roles and we are drying how we work.”

Walmart has not specified the number of people who will be affected, because the employees who are asked to move will have at least a month to inform the company if they are planning to move to the main centers.

The decision announced on Tuesday is part of a broader transfer strategy that was disclosed in May 2024, when Walmart started the first phase of the transfer of employees by asking employees from offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Toronto to move to Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Hobokeen, New New Jersey, office or location in California. Any employees who are still working remotely at the time were called to the office.

Walmart began to demand workers to return to the office in February 2022, saying that it enhances cooperation, innovation and work faster, while enhancing the company’s culture.
