It was formed in 1955. The company in its present form was formed on March 30, 1989, after the merger of three major companies namely, Sui Gas Transmission Company Limited, Karachi Gas Company Limited, and Indus Gas Company Limited.

Sui Southern Gas Company is a leading integrated gas company in Pakistan. The company is engaged in the business of delivery and distribution of natural gas in the southern part of Pakistan, especially in Sindh and Balochistan. Sui Southern Gas Company’s transmission system extends from Sui, Balochistan to Karachi, Sindh.
