PSEB Apprenticeship Program

The Pakistan Software Export Board PSEB Apprenticeship Program under the umbrella of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), has launched its flagship initiative — the Apprenticeship Program for IT Graduates. This initiative is part of the broader project titled “Revamping IT Industry Landscape”, aimed at equipping young IT graduates with hands-on professional experience in the ever-evolving technology sector of Pakistan.

The goal of this apprenticeship program is to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs. Many IT graduates leave universities with strong theoretical foundations but limited exposure to real-world projects. PSEB’s Apprenticeship Program helps address this challenge by offering practical training opportunities in leading IT companies registered with PSEB Apprenticeship Program. Through this program, graduates can gain valuable industry experience, enhance their employability, and prepare for long-term success in the IT sector.

Duration

Each selected apprentice will undergo a 6-month full-time placement at a PSEB-registered IT company. During this period, participants will work alongside industry professionals, contributing to real projects and developing both technical and soft skills essential for career advancement.

Monthly Stipend

All selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 30,000 for the entire duration of the program. This financial support ensures that participants can focus fully on learning and professional development without financial stress.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: Must have completed a degree in an IT-related discipline within the last two years.
• CGPA Requirement: A minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Ineligibility: Students who are currently enrolled in a degree program or are awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.

Hiring Process

1. Shortlisting: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their academic performance and submitted information.
2. Interviews: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by participating IT companies.
3. Final Selection: The final list of selected apprentices is reviewed and approved by PSEB Apprenticeship Program before the commencement of the program.

This structured hiring process ensures transparency and fairness, while also matching candidates with host companies that best align with their skills and interests.
