Israel climbed to the top ten global “Newsweek” Hospital

The United States magazine “Newsweek” included the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer in Israel as the best hospital in the world. Last year, “Newsweek” ranked the Sheba Medical Center in ninth place, and was in the past in tenth place.

“Newsweek” collects the best hospital classifications with a German data collection company. To collect the ranking, a joint committee in Newsweek and statistics evaluate about 2,400 of about 215,000 hospitals worldwide. Hospitals that have reached the ranking are from 30 countries. The magazine conducts interviews with doctors, hospital officials, and even sends investigative studies to patients, in order to compare not only their satisfaction levels but also their clinical condition, and the results of their treatment. Ultimately, hospitals are classified in two classifications – global and internal for each country.

Israeli hospitals in the global ranking

After Ishilov in Tel Aviv ranked 60th all over the world, while Pelinson Hospital in Beta Tikva ranked 122, Hadassah Ain Kirim was in Jerusalem ranked 242.

In Israel’s internal classifications, Rambam Hospital in Haifa came after Hudhasa Ain Karim, followed by Shari Zaidik in Jerusalem, Soroka in Perseva, Mir in Kafr Saba, West Galilee Hospital in Nahiria and Jabal Hadhasa in Jerusalim. In the internal classifications, Ain Karim was classified under Rambam last year and Shari Zaidik jumped over Soroka.
