Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 2nd Class Marine Engineer Certificate. 3rd Class Marine Engineer Certificate. Experience: Experience an asset. Additional Skills: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of engine room crew. Type of Experience: Marine transportation company. Factory freezer or trawler. Specific Skills: Operate main engines, machinery and auxiliary equipment on ships. Stand engine room watch, monitoring and noting performance of engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment. Inspect and conduct maintenance and emergency repairs to engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment. Maintain records and prepare reports on engine performance and failures. Work Site Environment: Confined spaces. Dangerous. In/on water. Noisy. Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly. Travel expenses paid by employer. Willing to travel internationally. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to Supervise: 3-4 people.
